About Rotaract about us About Rotaract
What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. As one of Rotarys most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 8,200 clubs in about 170 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
What is Rotary?
Rotary is the world’s largest service organization, with more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotaract Denmark
In Denmark there are 8 clubs in total apread across the country. The clubs are divided in districts. These districs are the same as the Rotary districts. The purpose of these districs is that the clubs within each district can work together on larger projects and use eachother's ressources. Each district has a DRR - District Rotaract Representative, who represents the district on national level.
About IRCC International Rotaract Club of Copenhagen
IRCC is build on three pillars: professionalism, philanthropy and social development.
Professionalism
Professional development is an important aspect of being a IRCC member. We encourage professional development by having guest speakers from different professional areas to gain insight into different industires and jobs. In addition, we visit firms, organizations and institutions in Copenhagen. Most importantly, however, IRCC provides the opportunity for our members to network with each other, which creates useful relationships for future career development.
Philanthropy
Giving back to our local community is an important part of our organization's philosophy, and we hope to be able to contribute to a variety of philanthropic subjects each year. We have chosen to focus on a specific part of Copenhagen each year that we will support with philanthropic activities. At the moment we are working on building a relationship with a club for socially exposed children at Nørrebro that want to help and hope to inspire to next year. Each event allows our members to participante to give back to the community.
Social
Our social schedule is filled with events that make the membership more fun and memorable. It's not just our events, however, that make our social pillar so great. The people you meet as a IRCCmember are what make our organization so special, and our social events help build lasting friendships that last far beyond our meetings with IRCC. Meet us here.
